Reading a rate per square foot

Check which area the rate is quoted on. The same flat can be quoted on carpet, built-up or super built-up area, and the per sq ft figure changes with each. Divide the total price by the carpet area to compare two homes fairly. How the three areas differ.
Asking rate is not the circle rate. The rates above are what sellers are asking on live listings. The circle rate (ready reckoner or DLC rate) is the minimum value the state sets for registration; stamp duty is charged on whichever is higher.
Add the one-time costs. Stamp duty and registration are added to the price, and measurements differ between states.
